Results of the Iowa Commercial Horticulture Foods Crops Survey is a comprehensive presentation of the results of a survey sent to Iowa farmers who produce vegetables, fruits, berries, nuts, honey, Maple syrup, herbs, mushrooms, pumpkins, or ornamental gourds to sell. The survey gathered data on farm sales and production in 2023. The report summarizes the characteristics of these farms and farmers, their use of and access to labor, crop sales and marketing strategies, production practices, on-farm infrastructure and equipment, and the economic impact of edible specialty crop production.
