This manual has been developed for individuals who want to become certified in the commercial and public pesticide applicator Category 7B – Termite Control.

This category manual supplements information in the Iowa Core Manual, CS 0445, and should not be used for certification preparation without referring to that manual.

The newly revised Category 7B Termite Control Manual, CS20, covers termite biology, inspection, prevention, and control. This manual also provides information on carpenter ants and other wood-destroying organisms. The manual (63 pages) was written with full input from subject matter experts across Iowa. The accompanying new certification examination will be available starting July 1, 2021, at testing locations currently approved by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Until that time, the current certification manual and exam will be used.
